The Godhead
‘For there are three that testify in heaven, the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit and these three are one’
1 John 5:7
We believe in the Tri-Unity of the Godhead: God, the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit and these three are one. God
Himself came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ. After
Christ was crucified and raised back to life, God sent the
Holy Spirit to be with Christ’s disciples to be their guide.
The Lord Jesus Christ
‘She will give birth to a son, and you are to give
him the name of Jesus because he will save his people
from their sins’ Matthew 1:21
Christ is the Son of Man and the Son of God, wholly man
and wholly God. Born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life
and died on the cross at Calvary for the sins of the whole
world. He rose again on the third day and later ascended
into Heaven where He daily intercedes for us. He will
return soon physically, visibly and gloriously as King of
Kings and Lord of Lords. He is our Saviour, Healer,
Baptiser and Coming King.
The Holy Spirit
‘He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin
and righteousness and judgement’ John 16:8
We believe in the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit
in convicting us of sin, righteous living and of the
coming judgement of us all.
Leading us into all truth,
His chief aim is to glorify Christ. The Holy Spirit
comforts us, guides us and empowers us with
supernatural gifts and graces for service to do God’s
will in our daily lives.
Salvation
‘If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved’ Romans 10:9
Salvation is not in a religion, creed or the works of men
but in a personal relationship with God through Christ
Jesus, His Son. Salvation is as easy as ABC; Acknowledge
and repent of your sin; Believe and accept Jesus Christ
as your personal Saviour; Confess to others that He is
Lord of your life. Whosoever shall call upon the name of
the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
Baptism
‘If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has
gone, the new has come!’ 2 Corinthians 5:17
As a public confession of faith and commitment to Christ,
we believe that repentant believers are to be baptised by
total immersion in water in the name of the Lord Jesus according
to Matthew 28 v19 and Acts 2 v 38. This is not infant
christening. Baptism symbolises the funeral service of the
old life and the resurrection of the new.
The Bible
‘All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness’
2 Tim 3:16
We believe God was the author of the Bible. We know that
the Holy Spirit is needed to understand the Bible. It
holds instruction for each of us about our daily Christian
lives and as such it is the highway code for Christian
living and the supreme authority for Godly standards. If
it is in the Bible we believe it, if it is not in the
Bible we question it.
Prayer
‘The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective’ James 5:16
We believe that prayer is the greatest privilege and greatest weapon a believer can possess. As we read in the Bible, Jesus tells us to be persistent and specific in prayer and our prayers will be answered. Prayer allows us to align ourselves with God’s will, and through prayer, God’s will becomes more active in the world we live. There is power in prayer!
Worship
‘God is spirit and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth’ John 4:24
We worship God for He is holy, awesome and worthy of all our praise and therefore true worship is not only a corporate act but a lifestyle. Jesus commands us to love our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. By focusing on Him, we humble ourselves to the King of Kings and the
Lord of Lords. Our worship and love of Christ does not only come out of our mouths but should also show in the manner we lead our daily lives and relationships.
Evangelism
‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations’ Matthew 28:19
Although Jesus said this to His early disciples, we are instructed to do the same. It is our responsibility to spread God’s Word in our community, our work place, among our family, friends and neighbours. We are God’s mouthpiece, His hands and His feet here on Earth. Therefore, He
commands us to share the life saving Gospel to everyone and allowing them the opportunity to respond to God’s call.
Order
‘Everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way’ 1 Corinthians 14:40
We believe that the Bible sets out guidelines to God’s standard of order in the Church regarding worship and the use of spiritual gifts. We believe in the freedom of expression but this ought to be tempered with love, respect and consideration of others and should always be biblical. God is not the author of confusion but of order.
